Art Classes in Muswell Hill and Barnet
Christine Watson runs three exciting art classes in Muswell Hill and Barnet. Enrollment is now open for the Autumn Term 2023. Forms will be available in September.

Monday 10.30 -1.00pm, St Peter Le Poer Church, Albion Avenue, N10 1HA. There is a car park and free street parking.
Drawing and watercolour techniques: students will learn a variety of drawing methods, including pencil, ink and charcoal. The class will also explore aspects of watercolour painting, from simple washes to wet-into-wet, masking techniques to using sponges, salt and clingfilm. Students will work from a range of subjects such as still life, landscape, portrait and flowers.
Tuesday 10am-12.30pm: Church House, Wood Street, Barnet
Painting and drawing: students will first learn to use a range of media such as acrylic paint, pastel, watercolour, charcoal and pencil, and can opt to develop one further should they wish. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with these materials in modules working from a broad variety of subjects.
NEW CLASS
Tuesdays 1.00 -3.30pm: Scout Hut, behind Church House, Wood Street Barnet

Beginners as well as more experienced artists are welcome in all three classes and students can choose to work from set projects or follow their own ideas under the guidance of the tutor.
Christine Watson studied at Winchester School of Art and the Slade. She was an Abbey Scholar at the British School at Rome and exhibits her work regularly in London and abroad. In 2015 and 2021 she was the Schmincke Prize winner at the annual Pastel Society Exhibition. Christine was elected as a member of the Pastel Society in 2022. Christine taught painting and drawing classes at Barnet and Southgate College for over thirty five years and has been running private classes for twenty years. Examples of her work can be seen at www.christinewatson.co.uk. Her book, Art Therapy, shows examples of some of the projects that she covers in classes and give simple step by step instructions for each task.
All classes cost £140 for a 10 week term. Early booking before the start of term is £130,
Materials are supplied to "get you started" but students are usually expected to provide all equipment.
